This workshop is a great introduction to Patchwork and Quilting. Make a gorgeous patchwork zipped pouch and phone case. You will also learn how to insert a zip and make a boxed bottom! Some sewing experience is a must for this workshop as we have lot to accomplish in one day. All materials are included in this workshop. Make this gorgeous v intage style patchwork cushion. This is a great introduction to Patchwork & Quilting. You will learn how to join squares and panels of fabric together to create a patchwork effect. You will applique your chosen designs onto the cushion and embellish with some hand stitch techniques and buttons. Beautiful keep forever cushion. All materials are included in this workshop but please feel free to bring along any fabrics you may want to use to make it more personal.

Have the child like joy of a lucky dip pack to chose your tiny fabric scraps from then applique onto your base quilt. Such an easy and fun way to make a quilt with a theme or without! Workshop includes all you need to make a small quilt, including your own choice of scraps from a huge, wonderful selection! Guest tutor: Jo Sheach.

Learn to make a simple patchwork quilt. This is a great introduction to Patchwork & Quilting. You will learn how to use a rotary cutter, cutting mat & quilters rule. How to piece together your squares then machine quilt your layers together. Time permitting you will finish off your quilt with a simple border. Your finished quilt will measure approximately one metre wide by 1.5 metres long. This is perfect for laying on top of a single bed, at the bottom of a double bed or as a lap quilt. Please bring along a packed lunch. Tea & cake provided by us!
Requirements: You will need to supply 6 Fat quarters of contrasting fabics ie: lights, dark, plains, patterns/ .50cm of fabric for the binding/ 1.60 metres of backing fabric/ 1.60 metres of batting (wadding). Plus matching thread. We have cutting mats, rotary cutters, Quilters rules and sewing machines here at the shop or you are free to bring along your own.

Break free from all the rules of quilting and enjoy the freedom of playing with colour and pattern to create a truly unique mini quilt. You will need to bring along 1 metre of your own choice of fabric (or you can buy some from the shop) all other materials will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch – tea & cake provided by us! Make this adorable patchwork and hand embroidered pillow, which is ideal for even beginners to patchwork. Learn to piece and quilt the top, hand embroider a message of your choice and then make it into a little pillow with a pretty vintage lace trim. All the materials are supplied (including the pillow pad). You can chose to make your pillow in similar fabrics to those shown or choose a lucky dip mix of darker shades (let Jan know at time of booking so the fabric can be cut ready for you). Pick up some useful tips whilst learning to make this Patchwork pouch. You will learn some basic patchwork and quilting techniques, add your lining, wadding and zip and then go on to decorate your pouch with ribbon and embellishments. You will be able to chose your patchwork squares from our shop stash. All materials are included.

Make a beautiful heirloom heart shaped wall hanging. You will machine stitch your chosen patchwork fabrics together then go on to applique, hand quilt or free motion sew chosing designs and words that are meaningful to you or someone you love. We will finish by adding a border and doweling for hanging. Please feel free to bring along any fabric scraps that hold special memories for you. This would make a lovely gift to yourself or someone you love.

This lovely Cathedral window cushion is a great introduction to patchwork using a tradition technique that really is more simple than it looks! You will need to have attended one of our Learn to sew workshosps or be confident with a sewing machine. All materials are included – but please feel free to bring along some of your favorite fabric scraps.

Make one of these really useful Patchwork scrap buckets. Great for organising all those loose scraps of fabric or storing pretty much anything – plus they look fab too! Bring along your favourite scrap fabrics (or you are welcome to use ours). You will also need to purchase 1/2 metre of lining fabric (or you can chose & purchase from the shop on the day). Back to school Draw string Rucksack. This versatile little Patchwork bag can be used for just about anything! A great make with some useful sewing skills. All materials are included in this workshop – you will chose from a selection of our fabric squares or feel free to bring along your own. ( You will need 18 x 5″ squares). Tea & cake provided by us!

This workshop is now full. We will be running this workshop again in the New Year. You will learn to use a rotary cutter & cutting mat and piece together your cut shapes to create a Star block. You will then go on to quilt your Star block and turn it into a Cushion or Wall hanging in time Christmas *Requirements: Three fat quarters of quilting weight cotton (add one more FQ if you want more fabric options) plus matching thread. We have fabric and thread here at the shop available to purchase should you need some. All other materials are supplied by us. Please bring along a packed lunch. Refreshments provided by us.

Chose your own combination of fabrics to create an individual look. All materials are included in this workshop – but please feel free to bring along any favourite fabric scraps you may want to use up .

Make your handles from fabric or treat yourself to a pair of coloured leather handles to make your bag look oh so professional! All materials are included in this workshop please specify your preferred colour combinations. (Leather handles will be an additional £15 and are available in various colours ).

Learn how to make a Patchwork ‘Log Cabin’ block. You will be using a rotary cutter & mat and piecing together your Log Cabin design then you will go on to quilt and construct the patchwork into a cushion or little table mat.
* Requirements: You will need to bring along 4 Fat Quarters in various contrasting colours and tones ie. lights & darks.

Make your handles from fabric or treat yourself to a pair of coloured leather handles to make your bag look oh so professional! All materials are included in this workshop please specify your preferred colour combinations. (Leather handles will be an additional £15 and are available in various colours ).

This workshop is a great introduction to Patchwork and Quilting. You will make a sewing machine cover which doubles as a mat with pockets to hold all your sewing equipment whilst you sew. Useful & fabulous to look at! You will learn to piece together your Patchwork squares to make pockets which are at the front and back of your cover/mat (great for storing the foot pedal and power lead). You will ‘sandwich’ your pockets and main fabric with batting and lining and then go on to quilt the layers together. You will learn how to make your own binding. Finally you can decorate your cover/mat with an applique pin cushion heart or a design of your choice. If you are feeling brave you could even try a little Free motion sewing – we have names for all our sewing machines! You must be confident with a sewing machine for this workshop. Please bring along a packed lunch. We will provide the Tea & Sweet treats. Requirements: 1 metre of fabric for the front & back (this can also be used for some of the patchwork squares and binding) however if you want a contrast binding you will need one Fat quarter in a contrasting colour. You can chose your patchwork squares from a selection of fabrics at the shop or feel free to bring along your own scraps. Everything else is supplied by us.

Make this patchwork table runner in time for Christmas – although it can be used all year round!. This workshop is a great introduction to Patchwork & Quilting. You will use a rotary cutter & cutting mat. Learn all about machine piecing, quilting and binding – in fact all you need to go on to larger patchwork and quilting projects! Batting (wadding) is provided by us along with light refreshments. Please bring along a packed lunch.
Requirements: For a simple two coloured checker effect you will need:
1/2 metre of light fabric (110cm X 50cm) or 2 light coloured FQ’s
1/2 metre of dark fabric (110cm X 50cm) or 2 dark coloured FQ’s
1.3 metre for your backing fabric and binding. (can use 1 metre but the backing will have a join if your fabric is 110cm wide.
The finished size of your table runner will be approximately 120cm X 35cm.
